Network security is one of the most important parts of any modern business in this highly-charged day and age. Companies are literally filled to the brim with employees who are all using the internet for different purposes. Employees use the internet to facilitate online meetings and conferences with people remotely and they also use their networks for online purchasing and shipping, as well as many other tasks that simply would not be possible without the internet. Networks like these open the way for businesses to expand, but they can also open the way for less productive or efficient aspects of the online universe.

Worms, viruses, spam and any other kind of malware are out there like forgotten landmines just waiting to be triggered. And with so many employees using the internet, the chances of uncovering one of these and possibly crippling your entire network have never been higher. Real-time internet security measures and filters are available that can blanket your t1 network and keep more of the bad stuff from getting in, but part of “real-time” means that they are working as we speak, up-to-date, all the time. Without a reliable XO communications service or t1 network backbone to support all of these ongoing countermeasures, you could suffer a network crash, and that could be bad for business. That’s why you not only need real-time security, but also a network that can handle it.

Most kids begin to surf on the Internet in grade school. The adventure of meeting new friends is very appealing as they are at an age when friends are very important to them. The stress often called peer pressure is very dangerous for kids since it will cause them to do things that can hurt them as the use of drugs and alcohol in non Internet related kids activities has proven. To keep your kids safe while surfing on the Internet insist that they do not give their names, addresses, telephone numbers or even email addresses to anyone on the Internet.Get more information here. http://boingboing.net/2011/08/05/300-million-button-making-customers-create-logins-to-buy-cost-etailer-300myear.html
There are many gimmicks on the Internet to trap kids into giving out personal information that they would not give to online friends. Those gimmicks include the lure of offering free gifts if a certain amount of points are earned. The earned points can’t begin until the potential earner gives his name, email address, and credit card. If your kids have their own credit cards, insist that they not used their credit for free gift games. The more obvious risk to kids online is to have chat room friends ask them to meet at the mall or at a movie. Warn your kids that their online friends might not be who they say they are and even if they are who they say they are, you don’t want to meet them in person anywhere.

One of the best ways to help teenagers learn and practice Internet security is to bring up the topic of Internet safety with them. Communication is an effective way to help teenagers use the Internet safely. Parents or other responsible adults should talk with teenagers about online reputation and sexting, online bullying and cyber security. Teens should also be made aware of the safe use of smart phones and cell phones when accessing the Internet, email and social networking web sites.

Parents and other responsible adults electing to use parental controls should follow some important suggestions. Discussions with the teenager should begin with expectations about safe, responsible Internet usage. This also should include established family rules and consequences if the rules of Internet security are broken. In order to encourage teenage responsibility while online, teens should be informed and warned that parental controls will be installed on their phones and computers. Teenagers deserve an explanation about the need for parental controls and the responsible adult should give them one. They also should be informed that their Internet usage would be monitored or scanned periodically. Parental controls are used to establish trust between the parent or other adult and the teenager.

Many IT professionals looking to enter the expanding security sector will need to get certified first. The reasons for certification are many and will depend largely on what the individual wants from his or her career. There are some common benefits though.

A security certification will allow any perspective employers to be able to quickly see that you are capable of filing their needs. Certification can only be had by passing an exam. This exam is made by industry professionals. Receiving the certification means you are qualified to work in the security field.

The value of a security certification has been going up steadily. Getting a certification means a bump in pay. Making the investment in the time, effort and training material very beneficial. These certifications vary as well so you can really pick the certification that best suites your skill level.

A job without proper certifications is getting harder and harder to find. These certifications are keeping those that are resting on their laurels instead of proving their knowledge by passing exams out of the job pool. In order to stay relevant you will want to make sure you get the right certifications as quickly as the market demands.More info here: Architect certification increasingly impacts professionalization of IT in the cloud era

The importance of education, has led to the companies and potential employers putting different values on degrees and certifications. Even, if they are ranked the same in educational terms the title of your degree seems to have the loudest voice in that conversation.

It is not impossible, for you to get a job in the IT industry without a degree or certification in an IT related field, just that the chances are lower than a person with even less experience, but with an IT certificate obtaining that same position.

One of the biggest reasons why companies seem to favor IT certificates, is that generally you will know how to organize your work better and more in-line with industry standards. While it is possible to be up to standards with your skills and be just as organized however, it is a lot harder to prove that to a hiring manager especially at the volume of resumes they take in each day.

If you do manage to land that IT job without the certification or degree, you might also find it harder to advance or find your pay lower than the person working next to you doing the same job as you.
