Great New Site for Data Loss Statistics
There is a great new site, etiolated.org, that takes the privacy breach data accumulated by attrition.org and parses it into some very interesting statistics, trends charts, provides areas for commentary, and lots of other interesting and useful information.
Information assurance folks, use this type of data to validate the need for you to have sufficient resources to establish effective safeguards throughout your organizations.
The links provided to the sites with detailed information about each of the breaches is a very nice feature of the site.
BTW, for those of you curious what "etiolate" means...I know I was...according to Merriam Webster it means...
"1 : to bleach and alter the natural development of (a green plant) by excluding sunlight 2 a : to make pale b : to deprive of natural vigor : make feeble"

Great resources for those suffering from the "it won't happen to me" condition! I really like websites that keep up with and list reported security breaches all in one place. Statistical analysis is just icing on the cake! Thanks for another wonderful resource, Rebecca.

You're welcome! :)
Yes, I love the statistical representations, too; the graphs can often have so much more impact than numbers alone.
