Another Information Security Awareness Method

Organizations need to provide ongoing information security and privacy awareness communications and activities. Messages need to be made in a variety of ways to accomodate the variety of learners and how people actually soak into their brains and memories the information you want them to understand and retain.

Putting up posters is one of the many ways to get the awareness raised in a creative way.

There are a huge number of free information security and privacy posters located at a great site, Central Coast Security, what appears to be a non-profit group sponsored by The Vandenberg Security Awareness Council (VSAC), The Channel Islands Chapter of NCMS, Inc. - The Society for Industrial Security Professionals, and The Santa Barbara Chapter of ASIS International.

Check it out and see if there is anything there that would fit within your organization!

I love that you've been giving your audience lots of different, creative ways to raise awareness. I think the key is to step outside the box and do something different to attract and keep employees' interest in security.

Thank you!

Yes, creativity and variety is a must. Info sec and privacy leaders must realize that 100% of the personnel are not always going to love their efforts, activities and communications; there are always going to be people who complain about what you do, but many more who will benefit and appreciate the efforts.

Too many practitioners don't implement a great awareness idea because they're afraid there may be a few folks who don't like it. However, if it is not profane, does not put down a group of people, or is not politically correct, don't let that stop the messages and activities!
